Our climate change commitment

Caring for God's creation is an important part of our Christian faith. We believe we have a responsibility to protect the natural world for future generations and to support those who are most affected by climate change.

The Church in Wales declared a climate emergency in 2021 and committed to working towards net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint as quickly as possible and embedding care for the environment in every aspect of church life. This includes how we worship, teach, manage our buildings and land, and make decisions about our resources.

The net zero carbon framework of the Church in Wales

This Framework, a response to the Net Zero Carbon challenge, sets out the position of the Church in Wales in tackling the threat of climate change.
