Green Energy with Parish Buying

Parish Buying is a national purchasing service that helps churches get better prices on everyday essentials like energy, technology and giving solutions.

Parish Buying has developed a new and improved energy product called Parish Energy. It is available to churches looking looking for competitive deals on greener energy.

What is Parish Buying?

Parish Energy

Want to ease the burden of finding a competitive and green energy deal for your church?

Parish Buying’s new ‘Parish Energy’ product is available for churches wishing to switch to greener energy or who are out of contract with their current energy supplier and want an easier contract arrangement. It uses a new energy broker, Mitie, and two new energy providers who offer Green Tariffs (Ecotricity for electricity and Corona for gas) to provide prices based on wholesale energy purchasing.

Local churches are encouraged to look at what the scheme can offer compared to their current energy contracts and consider a switch.

What are the benefits of Parish Energy?

Parish Energy could help you:

  • Save money - get a price based on wholesale energy purchasing.
  • Save time - no need to renegotiate at contract renewal.
  • Support renewable energy - Ecotricity offers 100% pure green from UK-based renewable sources, and green gas is also available from Corona (at a premium).
  • Feel supported - the broker, Mitie, has a dedicated account manager, account contact email and supportive customer service team to help your church every step of the way.

How do I join Parish Energy?

To join Parish Energy you will first need to register with Parish Buying. When registering for Parish Buying, please select the 'enter address manually' option, rather than searching by postcode or town. Church in Wales members do not need to enter a Church ID or Church Reference when registering.

To join Parish Energy you will need your electric meter (MPAN), gas meter (MPRN) and church details. You will then be sent pricing information and a Letter of Authority (LOA) to sign and return.

Parish Buying accepts new customers into the bulk energy scheme on a regular basis and you can join at the next available date or be provided with a short-term agreement to run up until the next available joining date.
