On 17 June 2026 the Electoral College of the Church in Wales elected The Very Reverend Dr Manon Ceridwen James, Dean of Bangor, as Bishop of Bangor.
The Constitution of the Church in Wales requires all episcopal elections to be confirmed by the serving diocesan bishops meeting in Sacred Synod, and notice is given that the bishops will meet in Sacred Synod to confirm the election of Manon James as Bishop of Bangor at Newport Cathedral, Stow Hill, Newport NP20 4ED at 6.15pm on Wednesday 9 September 2026.
This will be a public meeting and, should any member of the Church in Wales wish to draw to the bishops' attention any matter in relation to this episcopal election, they are invited to attend the meeting in person.
