Businesses, accommodation providers and church congregations in Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy are being asked to take part in a consultation on the North Wales Pilgrim’s Way, the 136-mile walking route from Basingwerk Abbey near Holywell to Bardsey Island, often called the “Welsh Camino”.

The consultation, beginning on Friday 6 November, will explore how businesses and local communities can benefit from better supporting pilgrims with accommodation, transport and access to food and water along the route. In addition, people will be asked how local heritage, culture and language can be promoted through the development of the route. There will be opportunities for people to become Pilgrim’s Way Ambassadors for the route.

The consultation is part of a two-year project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund to explore the potential for growth in the number of people walking the long-distance route.
