Lectionary: 2025-2026 - Year A

The Collect and the Post-Communion Prayer are determined by the name of the Sunday in the church year – e.g. Second Sunday after Epiphany or Tenth Sunday after Trinity.

During Ordinary Time*, the Biblical readings for the Sunday do not correlate with the Sundays of the year (Trinity 10 etc.) but instead use a system of ‘Propers’ which run somewhat independently. So, to find the Bible readings for a Sunday in Ordinary Time, you will need to identify the correct Proper for that Sunday, as shown in the printed lectionary (in brackets at the top of the left-hand page).

* In this context, this refers to either (i) the period after the end of the Epiphany Season and before the Second Sunday before Lent; or (ii) the long succession of Sundays after Trinity Sunday to the Last Sunday after Trinity.
