The Cynon Valley South Ministry Area brought community spirit to life this week as St Margaret’s Church hosted its lively “Not in the Pub Quiz”, where five enthusiastic teams battled it out for the top spot. After an evening filled with fun, laughter and wonderfully random facts, Winnie’s Wanderers were crowned champions.
In a heartwarming act of generosity, the winning team announced they will be donating their prize money to ASD Rainbows, a local charity established in 2017 that supports families affected by Autistic Spectrum Disorder and related conditions. Based in South Wales, ASD Rainbows currently works with children and families across Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil, offering vital encouragement, connection and practical help.
The quiz night also proved a fantastic fundraiser for St Margaret’s Church, raising over £250 for church funds, a testament to the dedication and goodwill of everyone who took part. Even Harley the Dachshund enjoyed himself. (He knew all the answers, his team just weren't listening to him!)
Events like this highlight the joy of community coming together: shared laughter, shared purpose, and shared commitment to supporting local families and ministries.
