Woman of the Year? Dean of St Davids nominated for prestigious national award

The Dean of St Davids Cathedral, Dr Sarah Rowland Jones, has been invited to join the prestigious Women of the Year Lunch and Awards ceremony to be held in London next week (Monday October 13th).
The invitation is in recognition of “an outstanding contribution” to and “lasting impact” on the communities those nominated serve.
The invitation comes as the annual event celebrates its 70th anniversary. Run entirely by volunteers, led by President Baroness Tanni Grey Thompson, the network aims to inspire and empower women from all walks of life by championing those making a difference to others and advancing the achievements of women throughout the UK and around the world.
Previous winners include the artist Tracey Emin, the musician Joan Armatrading and the sub post mistresses caught up in the Post Office Horizon scandal.
Dean Sarah said she was “incredibly proud” to have received her invitation. “It means the world to have my work recognised in this way.”
The Bishop of St Davids, Dorrien Davies, congratulated her, saying: “Dean Sarah is a force for good in our community and that of the cathedral. This recognition is richly deserved.”
