Keen to be Green

Parish Buying’s new energy procurement product, ‘Parish Energy’ – to be launched October 2025 - is welcoming new church customers
Want to ease the burden of finding a competitive and green energy deal for your church? Parish Buying’s new ‘Parish Energy’ product is available to churches wishing to switch to greener energy and/or who are out of contract with their current energy supplier and want an easier contract arrangement.
What is Parish Energy?
Parish Energy uses the power of bulk buying for churches to secure competitive and green energy.
Parish Buying (the Church of England’s Procurement Team) has developed a new, improved energy product after an extensive tender process. The new Parish Energy product uses a new energy broker, Mitie, and two new energy suppliers, Ecotricity and Corona.
Local churches are encouraged to look at what the scheme can offer compared to their current energy contracts and consider a switch.
What are the benefits of Parish Energy?
You could:
- Save money – get a price based on wholesale energy purchasing.
- Save time – no need to renegotiate at contract renewal.
- Support renewable energy – Ecotricity offers 100% pure green from UK-based renewable sources, and green gas is also available from Corona (at a premium).
- Feel supported – the broker, Mitie, has a dedicated account manager, account contact email and supportive customer service team to help your church every step of the way.
Want to join Parish Energy?
Were you a member of Parish Buying’s previous Energy Basket?
If you previously used Parish Buying for your church’s energy needs, you will already have received information about the new scheme and been able to register an interest in the new product.
Registration also requires you to provide information about your electric meter (MPAN), gas meter (MPR) - if applicable, and church details.
Once that information was returned you will have been issued with a Letter of Authority (LOA) that needed to have been sent back by mid-August 2025. Your account will now be transferred in time for the October launch of Parish Energy.
Not yet a member of Parish Buying for your church’s energy needs?
Is your energy contract coming up for renewal soon or are you out of contract with your current supplier? You can complete an expression of interest and information form: Parish Buying. You first need to register with Parish Buying (if not already registered) and you will also need your electric meter (MPAN), gas meter (MPRN), if applicable, and church details.
You will then be sent pricing information and a Letter of Authority (LOA) to sign and return.
Parish Buying accepts new customers into the bulk energy scheme on a regular basis and you can join at the next available date or be provided with a short-term agreement to run up until the next available joining date.
Upcoming dates for joining ‘Parish Energy’ are October 2025, April 2026 and October 2026.
