Building and Property Surveyor
Salary: £45,928 - £51,962 per annum (in addition a car allowance will be provided)
Location: Home based
Contract: Permanent
Reporting to: Head of Building Surveying
Hours of Work: Full Time (34.75 hrs/pw)
Job Purpose
The Property Services Department, in supporting the mission of the church, is responsible for providing wide ranging property related service and advice for the Representative Body and Dioceses through the development and maintenance of an effective property management strategy.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Building and Property Surveyor who will be responsible for organising a variety of building and estate management work including building repair, maintenance and improvement, boundary matters including emergency works and disputes, development opportunities etc. A significant part of the role will be to work with St Padarn’s, the RB’s theological educational institute on enhancing the St Padarn’s site to facilitate excellence in learning.
Essential
- A Chartered Surveyor, or similarly qualified person, with strong experience of managing building works and a varied property portfolio.
- Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, CDM regulations and other relevant statutory requirements.
- Well organised but with the flexibility necessary to manage planned projects and emergency situations.
- Sound knowledge and experience of building surveying, property management, insurance and related matters.
- Good understanding of the way in which property management budgets are constructed, managed and controlled.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the diplomacy necessary to deal with sensitive matters.
- An understanding of the importance of proportional risk management.
- An empathy with the mission and ministry of the Church in Wales.
- Excellent communicator both written and oral.
- Reliable record keeping.
- Good computer skills and the ability to learn new software.
- Driving licence.
