Each diocese sets aside an annually agreed budget for repairs (known as the Diocesan Parsonage Board Account). Repairs to parsonages are paid for from this fund and must be approved by the Parsonage Board. The works are planned and organised by the Parsonage Board Inspector.
Interior decorations and garden maintenance is the responsibility of the incumbent. Information about health & safety with regard to general maintenance issues can be found here.
Improvements to parsonages may be required from time to time and each Parsonage Board is responsible for this. Any improvement works are paid for from the Diocesan Parsonage Board Improvement Fund, which comes from the sale of parsonages and parsonage land (and can only be used for this purpose). The Improvement Fund for each Diocese is administered by the Representative Body in close cooperation with the Diocese.
Information on improvements to parish owned properties in the Parsonage Board Scheme can be found here.
