The Twelfth Sunday after Trinity
Prayer for the week
God of Goodness and Truth;
Crossing the threshold to prayer and worship is fearful, whether in our hearts or entering a building. We feel guilty at our failure to prioritise, and hypocritical for our sins and failures. Remind us that we need not be expert or holy to seek you, for you long to meet us where we are, and to pour out your mercy and blessing.
Through Jesus Christ our Friend and Brother: Amen.
Canon Carol Wardman
Collect for the week
Almighty and everlasting God,
you are always more ready to hear than we to pray
and to give more than either we desire or deserve:
pour down upon us the abundance of your mercy,
forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid
and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask
but through the merits and mediation
of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
