Holy Communion

At Holy Communion blessed bread and wine is shared, by which we receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The congregation gives thanks for Jesus’ life, his death and resurrection and his continuing presence. See also Eucharist.

Prayer for the week

Merciful God;
Your compassion for all in distress is boundless.
Sustain, we pray, those stricken by disaster and unrest, in the midst of the pandemic crisis.
Give humility and wisdom to leaders and discernment to the peoples,
that righteousness may prevail,
and that in your time and your way, good may come out of their troubles.
In the healing name of Jesus: Amen.

Canon Carol Wardman

Collect for the week

Let your merciful ears, O Lord,
be open to the prayers of your humble servants;
and that they may obtain their petitions
make them to ask such things as shall please you;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
