A proud son of Llanelli and avid fan of the Scarlets, Nigel John's first job, after he left Llanelli Boys' Grammar School, was at Llanelli Borough Council. After six enjoyable years, he did voluntary work for a year with the Community Service Volunteers in London and Stoke-on-Trent, before returning to Wales to complete a BA in Religious Studies at Cardiff. Later, she taught Music at Guildford, during which time she also took a Diploma in Theology, before offering herself to the South American Missionary Society and being sent to Paraguay. As a Mission Partner, Glenys did medical work, taught, and helped to establish the Anglican Church in Concepción, before moving on to Asunción - Paraguay's capital - where she became the Head and Coordinator of St Andrew's College. Since this time, Glenys has done missionary work in the Holy Land (Ramallah and Amman) and, following a request from SAMS, in Seville. She has also completed a degree through the Open University and was licensed as a Reader in the Diocese of Swansea & Brecon in 1995.
At the moment, Glenys' interests are centred around supporting children in the shanty area of Asunción, playing Club Scrabble, going Line Dancing, and travelling abroad whenever she can.
Alan Griffiths (Reader)

Alan was born in 1948 in Gloucester. After completing a Mathematics degree at Warwick University, and a Certificate in Education at Exeter, he moved to Chelmsford, where he taught Mathematics at King Edward Vl Grammar School for 41 years. In 1981 he married Elaine, originally from Sheffield, but teaching in Essex. Graduating from Swansea University with a degree in Geography & History, Elaine held affection for what she calls "Sheffield-by-the-Sea". This resulted in many holidays in Swansea and Gower together with a growing conviction that they should retire here. In 1992 Alan became a Reader in the Diocese of Chelmsford, and after their move to Sketty in 2011, he was licensed in the Diocese of Swansea & Brecon.
Origami is Alan's main interest. His maternal grandmother was Chilean and they hope to find time to learn enough basic Spanish to be able to visit this side of his family.
