Hay Deanery

Llangasty Parish

The church was rebuilt in the middle of the 19th century. The patron was Robert Raikes of Treberfydd, who had come into contact with the Tractarians at Oxford in the 1830's and whose building programme included the neighbouring school, now closed, and rectory, now a reteat house.
The church is a remarkably intact survival of the Oxford movement's ideas on liturgical arrangements.
The church has a peal of bells and details of the peals rung on the bells of Llangasty can be found at Ringing World. The church registers go back beyond the present church to 1718, further details can be found on the Genuki site.
