  .ST.MAURITIUS, ALLTMAWR

With a length of 35 feet it is one of the smallest churches in Wales. Originating in the 13th century it is single-chambered with a three sided apse added at the end of the 19th century. The wooden framed windows, pulpit and box pews at the rear of the church date from the 18th century.

ALLTMAWR

NEW CAR PARK
One benefit of the A470 road improvement scheme at Abernant will be the provision of parking for six cars at St.Mauritius Church. When Chapel House was purchased by the Welsh Assembly Government and re-sold in 2005 the kitchen garden on the south side of the Church was retained. Powys County Council, acting on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government, propose to transfer this area of land to the Church for use as a car park. Six parking spaces will be provided below and along the existing path to the Churchyard.
A new footway ramp will be provided from the end of the car park into the churchyard. The existing garden shed will be retained. The scheme illustrated with design plans will be presented for approval at the Annual Vestry and PCC meeting on March 20th .
