One of the first items that came to me in the New Year was this item from the Fairtrade Foundation that may be of interest to those of you who support Fairtrade either at home or in your local church.

Please use the link below to find out more about the contact with this gentleman but also as a way in to the fairtrade foundation website.

The Anglican Church in Damascus and Syria.

Everyday we hear more and more tragic news coming out of Syria and the suburbs of Damascus a cradle of our faith and it may seem fitting at the moment to consider the work and worship of the Christian Churches there. The International Anglican Church website can be found at the link below.

The Church in Syria comes under the Diocese of Jerusalem and there is a link below that describes the variety of work undertaken by the church there.

These churches serve both Western Christians living in Syria and also the native Arabic Christians....please hold them in your prayers during difficult times.
Intercessions
If you have been following the Diocesan Intercessions handbook or its online version on this website you will se that in this month we have being praying for the Dioceses of Burundi, Brazil, and others beside. Sometimes these appear as just names to us as we undertake our weekly prayers for the World-wide church, our Diocese and other areas of concern; however if you wish to 'flesh out' these words with images and specific needs for prayer then more detailed information regarding these places can be found on the Anglican Communion Website
http://www.anglicancommunion.org/index.cfm

That's it for January, so may I wish you a Happy and Blessed New Year and also hope and pray that all our prayers will help those places and people mentioned in this bulletin and those for whom you know yourself.
Peter.
