World Mission is an essential element of the Church of God. We are reminded of the commmandment of Jesus to:
go then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples
Matt 28:19
The purpose of the committee is to remind us that we are part of the World wide Christian Church and that we must share God's Mission in our world.
We endeavour to engage World Mission through our involvement with the major Mission organisations of the Anglican Church such as the Church Mission Society, the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, South American Mission Society, the Mission to Seafarers and the Mothers Union Worldwide. We have representatives in all of these societies.
Sponsored walk up Pen Y Fan for SAMS
We seek to raise the profile of the World Church in our Diocese by organising on a triennial basis festivals or events which are both uplifting and invigorating. We also provide small grants and encourage paid employees of the Church in Wales to consider the "interchange scheme".
