ministry - st michael's college
St Michael's College at Cardiff provides the opportunity to train for Christian Ministry - an exiting and stimulating vocation whatever form it takes.
The vision of the Church which inspires the college is of a community which is generous, inclusive, accessible, increasingly ecumenical, mission oriented, vulnerable rather than triumphalist, and both scriptural and sacramental.
For those who hope to serve in the Churches in Wales we hope it will be a natural choice. Certainly we do all we can to affirm and promote our particular Christian and cultural heritage and we believe that no other College will be as able to prepare candidates for ministry here. For those outside Wales we hope St Michael's will be an attractive choice. The liturgies of other churches and ecumenical communities are used regularly in Chapel and no-one need feel an outsider. In fact we welcome people here from all over the world. We take our context very seriously and this points to a whole way of understanding and doing theology, grounded in experience and with a real sense of 'place'. We enjoy a unique relationship with Cardiff University, a centre of excellence in Theology, and are able to provide an exceptionally wide range of courses for undergraduates, non graduates and postgraduates. Everyone who trains here receives a University qualification - and one which can be augmented through further accredited work, during the years of ministry, through any university institution.
