ministry

The Director of Ministry is Revd. Dr Ian Davies who covers the following areas of operation.

Diocesan Director of Ordinands

‘Sometimes known as the Warden of Ordinands, the ‘DDO’ is responsible for those who are at various points on their ministry journey. Anyone who is interested in exploring his or her vocation to the ministry is asked to contact Ian.

Initial Continuing Ministerial Education

this is a training programme offered both on a Diocesan and a provincial basis. It covers clergy from the time of their ordination until their first post of responsibility. This part of the clergy career used to be known as Post Ordination Training 'POT' or 'Potty Training' for short!

Continuing Ministerial Education

Clergy should never cease their learning and the CME Adviser co-ordinates this for the Diocese whether it be formal training with outside agencies of courses offered internally to meet a particular local need. Grants are available to assist clergy with their training needs and anyone wishing to access this funding is asked to contact Ian.

The CME Adviser also plans and operates the 4-day residential Clergy School the next one of which is scheduled for 10-13 September 2012 at the University of Warwick.

Warden of Non-Stipendiary Ministers

The Warden of NSMs is responsible for the training and support of NSMs and is available for advice and help whenever needed.

Clergy Review Scheme

The Director of Ministry is responsible for the administration of the scheme for Clergy Review, which is then operated by the Bishop and Archdeacons. For more information on timetabling, interviews and so on, please contact Ian.
