Parish Responsibilities

The parish has few responsibilities for a parsonage or curate house during a clerical vacancy if it is owned by the Representative Body, other than to make sure it is regularly aired, checked for damage (such as leaky pipes) and secure. The grounds should also be kept tidy and any problems reported to the Parsonage Inspector.

The care and maintenance of vacant parsonages and curate houses owned by the parish, are the responsibility of the parish. They should be regularly inspected and maintained and adequate insurance cover kept up to date.
