News Items
News Items are like “Events” – when you create them, they will be listed in two places. Firstly, a news item will appear in the left hand column, and secondly they will appear in whichever section you created them in. The idea is that News and Events should be seen by anyone, no matter which part of the website they are browsing.

You can create a “News item” by choosing “add new? – news item”.
In the form for adding the news item, it’s the usual case of adding a title and a short description.

Once you've added your title and description, you can then add as full a set of details as you like using the text editor. For more details on adding links, pictures, and formatting text in the text editor, see the separate section on the text editor.

You also get the option of adding an image at the bottom of the form. This image will be displayed to the news item in the left-hand column, as well as at the top of the full news item page – as is the case with the church picture in the example above.

The screenshot below shows what your news item will look like when people click on the link to see the full news item. You can see the title and the brief description at the top, and then – if specified – the image and the body text.
