The Bells

The church has a ring of six bells, cast by William Evans of Chepstow (so a local founder) in 1765
The weights are:
Treble - 3cwt 3qtr 19lbs
2 - 4cwt 1qtr 3lbs
3 - 4cwt 2qtr 14lbs
4 - 5cwt 2qtr 20lbs
5 - 6cwt 1qtr 10lbs
Tenor - 8cwt 2qtr 3lbs

Bell weights are traditionally given in cwts, quarters and pounds where 1cwt =112lbs so 1qtr = 28lbs

Ringers would desribe them as an 8½cwt six.
