Good Friday 2010

A witness of faith - in the rain!

Every Good Friday morning we share in an ecumenical procession of witness from St Mellons Parish Church to St Dyfrig's Parish Church in Llanrumney. Sadly it was only St Mellons and St Dyfrig's that gathered together this year. It was also very cold and very wet. Usually we gather together in the car park but in view of the weather we gathered in St Mellons Parish Church. This is very special photo because the two people front right have a daughter in Dubai who will be able to view this on the net.

Gathering in St Mellons Church

After prayers and a Bible Reading the procession formed up outside and we started to walk to St Dyfrig's, stopping from time to time for prayers and witness along the way. One point of witness was a bus shelter where a young man must have thought he was getting somewhat near heaven!

By a circuitous route and sheltering at the local RC Church (to whom we were very grateful) we made our way to St Dyfrig's for our final prayers and (thank God and St Dyfrig's) tea and hot cross buns. Oh happy band of pilgrims! Again the two front right will be able to show this to their daughter in Dubai. null
