How we celebrated the Resurrection of the Lord

On Holy Saturday some of us sinners went walking in the Wye Valley whilst we left others to decorate the church - and didn't they do well!

 

Lilies had been donated in memory of loved ones and the whole church shouted of the glory of the Resurrection - especially after the rigours of Lent. Thank you to the good and talented people of our church. There is indeed a wealth of talent in St Mellons and probably a fair bit undiscovered.

 

Easter Day was absolutely wonderful and yours truly gave away Easter eggs to all who came to church, as a treat and of course as a symbol of the Resurrection. Baptism vows were renewed and everyone was splashed with Holy Water - Vicar now has a special brush courtesy of Mrs Vicar. Vicar even treated everyone by not preaching and they really seemed to appreciate it! Actually the church preached the sermon for him. Oh and in case we forget - the church was full at 11am.
