Violence on the TV?

I love the television - it is a source of relaxation for me but it is also a source of marital dispute. SHE doesn't like the same of programmes as me. I like Holby City and Silent Witness - she likes QVC. Solution: send her out or give her a small tele of her own.
Last night I watched both Holby and Silent Witness and with the former it was all change and decay and a nice consultant enabling a patient to jump the queue. Does it happen? Silent Witness has become so violent lately that I'm seriously thinking of watching QVC. Do forensic pathologists really tread the path of violence that we currently see on the BBC? Does it do us any good to see that amount of graphic violence I wonder?
