Armistice Day 08
How children from school marked this historic event

For Armisitice Day 2008 children from Y6 were asked to plan for a School Family Eucharist which did two things:
1 Remembered the fallen in armed conflict
2 Prayed for peace
The children chose their own songs, readings and prayers. Songs were in the main gentle and quiet like "Peace perfect peace". One of the readings was a traditional reading of Psalm 23, which people often use in time of danger. In the prayers children remembered the clergy who should be people who help to bring peace. At the Peace we all greeted one another in a very happy and joyful fashion.
Everyone was pleased that Y6 had achieved both parts of their task in such a Christian, positive and intelligent spirit.
