Vicar: The Revd Canon Edward Evans

Edward with the Archbishop of   Wales after his Installation as a Canon of Llandaff Cathedral. 

After training at University College, Cardiff and St Michael's College, Llandaff Edward was ordained deacon in 1971 and priest in 1972. He was a curate in the Parish of Llantwit Fardre from 1971 to 1977 when he became Rector of Eglwysilan. He was there from 1977 until 1988 when he was appointed Incumbent of the Benefice of Laleston with Tythegston and Merthyr Mawr. He was Area (Rural) Dean of Bridgend from 1994 to 2004. He represents the Diocese on a number of LEA Education Bodies and is closely linked with a number of schools in the local LEA Cluster. He is a Section 50 Schools? Inspector. In 2007 he was appointed part time Chaplain at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend and in 2008 was created a Canon of Llandaff Cathedral. Also in 2008 he was awarded an MA by the University of Wales, Bangor for his work on Faith and Education.
