Having a Funeral service in church

Christ has been raised from death as the guarantee that those who sleep in death will also be raised... 1 Corinthians 15:20 We believe that Jesus brings peace to those who mourn and hope to us all as we live in human weakness and will all face death. We want you to receive any support that we can offer you. If you live within our parish, or have a connection with us, then we can offer you the use of our church buildings for funeral services, and the vicar will be pleased to lead a funeral service. It is often the local custom to have a short service of prayer at the deceased's house, followed by the Church in Wales funeral service at the graveside or Crematorium. The Vicar will visit the bereaved family and discuss details of the service and share the Christian message of resurrection and new life in Christ. There is the opportunity for continued contact following the funeral to offer support through grief, and counsel is available for further support. There is a fee of around £55 for the attendance of a minister, and an additional fee of £100 if a church building and church staff are requested. Every year we have a parish bereavement care group which is there to support people in their mourning. These are held for 5 weeks in different parts of the parish and many find them a comforting place to express feelings or listen to others.
