Prayer Ministry and Healing on the Streets
We believe that the living Lord is interested in our lives and that God can meet us in our needs. We encourage all our church members to listen to how God might want us to pray for others and there are opportunities for prayer in our church services or by appointment. We have many people who can testify to God's presence giving them a new sense of healing in their relationships with others, in the body and in themselves. We can never predict what might happen when we pray with someone, but we follow the pattern of Jesus, simiply commending someone into the care of our heavenly Father in whose presence, only good things can be evoked. Healing on the Streets Healing on the Streets is a ministry that had been running since October 2009, where a group of Christians go into our local Rheola market twice a month on a Saturday market and offer prayer to the public. The team have been trained as part of the Healing on the Streets initiative from Causeway Coast Vineyard church, Coleraine, Northern Ireland, who have witnessed many people being healed, refreshed and restored by the Lord. What we do Once a month we set up a stall at the market from 10am until noon. We have a large banner with the words Healing / Iachâd logo suspended on a pole, and visible all around the market. Having prayed the Lord would be with us and we would be inspired by the Holy Spirit, we simply invite passers-by to come and sit with us and we chat and pray with them. It is a very gentle ministry and people aren't put off from our approach. Our leaflets explain what we do: We believe that God loves you and can bring healing in body, mind or spirit. If there are physical troubles, problems in relationships with others, or if you are needing peace in life, we'd love to pray for your healing right now or when you are next here. Whether it is for you, a family member or friend we will be ready to pray with anyone who is sick, unwell or suffering from any injury so that recovery can be blessed. While we pray, there is a small CD player playing worship music quietly and we believe that God loves everyone and delights to show His love to people through healing them and touching their lives. We have no power ourselves but know that Jesus can and does heal today. Contact us for more information for when we are next at Rheola or join us in one of our evening services in church.
