Parish of Llanharry - Mission Statement

We seek to be faithful to the task our Lord has given us of taking the Good News to all people. We feel that this can best be done by our all working together as the body of Christ in this place, each using the gifts and talents which God has uniquely given to us.

Our aims are:

1. To develop our personal and corporate relationship with God through prayer and growing understanding of His purposes for us.

2. To create an atmosphere of worship which is meaningful to everyone - those at present within our congregation as well as those who are new to church life.

3. To recognise, train, develop and encourage the God-given talents of all members to be used for the total ministry of the church, and to nurture fellowship with each other.

4. For the church to be perceived as an integral and significant part of the community whereby it serves the religious, spiritual, pastoral and social needs of the whole community.

5. To explore specific ways of outreach in our community.

6. Particularly to encourage a greater involvement of young families, teenagers and children in the whole life of the church, without neglecting the needs of the older community.

7. To implement strategies whereby the fabric of the buildings are maintained and improved.

8. To stabilise and then build upon our financial base in order for the local church to support local, national and international projects.

9. To continue and enhance the ecumenical work in the village and neighbouring communities.

10. To foster partnerships within the world-wide church which will provide both a stimulus and catalyst for the spiritual life of the local church.

11. To foster and utilise the resources and expertise of the diocese and the province in order for the local church to be fully equipped for its mission.
