Restoration of St.TUdwal's
Parish walk, taking in Socvestan Fort.
Some 50 walkersd set off from the Ferry House Inn at Hazelbeach to walk some of the byways of the Parish.
It was a mixed group of people some regular walkers, some from the Cardiac Exercise Club, some regular church goers and others who came along.
The walk took us to Scovestan Fort, a Victorian fortification, now sealed off. It was there that local histioraian Simon Hancock gave us a history of the fort. After a short break the walkers continued down to the old Railway track to the Marina and back along the promanade to the Ferry House Inn. In all a wonderful community day that raised some £1,000 for work on St.Tudwal's church. March 2010.
The restoration is now only needing £46,00 to attract match funding from the Lottery.
May 2010: Now in the process of having building firms looking at the work and givng us a price.By the end of June 2010 we should know when and how the work will proceed
