A car load of comfort: from one St Mary’s to another
A car load of goods collected by members of St Mary’s Church, Llanfairpwll was delivered this week (December 1) to St Mary’s Hostel for the Homeless in Bangor.
The members were responding to an appeal to help the homeless in Bangor and the surrounding area, and the Mothers’ Union in Action at the Church also swung into action, wrapping up Christmas presents and making hand-made cards for all those who will be resident at the hostel over the Christmas period.
Canon Philip Hughes, Rector of St Mary’s Church, Llanfairpwll said: “Church members have responded magnificently to the appeal and amongst the goods delivered to the Hostel this week were blankets, sleeping bags, warm clothes, hats, scarves, gloves as well as tinned and dried food and food for dogs. We hope that these supplies will help to ease the plight of the homeless in the Bangor area, not only over Christmas, but also during the coming winter months.”
