'LAS POSADAS' for Advent

Posados Crib

‘Las Posadas’ is a Mexican Advent celebration which re-enacts Mary and Joseph journeying to Bethlehem and looking for safe lodging, followed by the birth of Jesus in a humble stable.

At St Mary’s we have a Christmas crib which you can take to your home for a day or two during Advent and give ‘lodging’ to Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus. You can use this as an opportunity to invite your family, friends and neighbours for a simple ‘cuppa’, light refreshments or even a Mexican meal. They will share with you in the wonder of Christ’s birth, Emmanuel –God with us and share in the Love and Light of Christ with you.
