Bag2TheFuture Collection

Bag2TheFuture

DIOLCH / THANK YOU

We raise £350 from the items collected in July.

Next collection will be 26 January 2012.

Fundraising for Renovations to Church Hall

to benefit all ages in the community who use the Church Hall

Twice a year (in June and January) we will distribute bags to members of groups/organisations who use the Church Hall. These bags are for the donation of good quality second-hand clothing, bedding, curtains, soft toys, shoes (tied together please ), belts and handbags.

Bag2TheFuture will come and collect the bags and they will give 50p per kilo for the items collected.

All items are then sold, either sorted or unsorted, to importers and wholesalers in many countries of Eastern and Western Europe, Africa and Asia.

Regardless of whether clothes are given to charities, clothing banks, council collections or Bag2TheFuture this is where the goods are all sold. 80 % of discarded clothing goes for reuse as clothes and the other 20 % enters the recycling industry for bed manufacture, socks, blankets and the industrial wiper trade.

This also helps the environment as the only alternative would be for the goods to go to a landfill site. As a nation we throw away about 1,500,000 tonnes a year of clothes of which the textile industry handles around 300,000 tonnes, there are, therefore, over 1,000,000 tonnes still going to landfill sites.

Please support our efforts, both to fund renovations and improvements to the facilities in the Church Hall, which are widely used by the whole community, and to help our environment.

Please return your bags to Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cub Scouts, Mini Moli, Soft Play, Mothers’ Union in Action, St Mary’s Church or direct to the Church Hall where they will be collected on January 26th, 2012.

Pwrpas y bagiau hyn yw eich galluogi i gyfrannu dillad ail-law, dillad gwely, llenni, teganau meddal, esgidiau (wedi eu clymu ynghyd os gwelwch yn dda), beltiau a bagiau llaw, y cyfan o ansawdd da.

Fe ddaw Bag2TheFuture i gasglu’r bagiau gan roi 50c y cilo am yr eitemau a gasglwyd.

Yna gwerthir yr holl eitemau, naill ai wedi eu didoli neu beidio, i fewnforwyr a chyfanwerthwyr mewn sawl gwlad yn Nwyrain a Gorllewin Ewrop, Affrica ac Asia.

P’run ai y rhoddir dillad i elusennau, banciau dillad, casgliadau’r cyngor neu Bag2TheFuture dyma lle bydd yr holl nwyddau’n cael eu gwerthu. Bydd 80 y cant o’r dillad a deflir yn cael eu hailddefnyddio fel dillad a bydd y 20 y cant sy’n weddill yn mynd i’r diwydiant ailgylchu er mwyn cynhyrchu gwelyau, sanau a blancedi, ac i’r fasnach cadachau glanhau diwydiannol.

Mae hyn hefyd yn helpu’r amgylchedd gan mai’r unig ddewis arall fyddai i’r nwyddau fynd i safle tirlenwi Fel gwlad rydym yn lluchio tua 1,500,000 tunnell o ddillad y flwyddyn ac o’r rhain bydd y diwydiant tecstiliau’n trin tua 300,000 tunnell; mae dros 1,000,000 tunnell yn dal i fynd i safleoedd tirlenwi felly.

Gofynnwn i chi gefnogi ein hymdrechion, nid yn unig er mwyn adnewyddu a gwella’r cyfleusterau yn Neuadd yr Eglwys, a ddefnyddir yn helaeth gan yr holl gymuned, ond hefyd er mwyn helpu ein hamgylchedd.
