A very successful Quiz Night for the three parishes was held at Halkyn Library on Friday, 4th December, 2009.

Quiz Night Success for Rhosesmor Four!

The winners of the first inter-Parish Quiz, Lynn and Brian Fearnhead and Jean and Reinhard Schmid with their winners' Mars Bars!

The first inter-Parish quiz was held on Friday evening, 4th December at Halkyn Library.  There was a good turn out and in a surprisingly close contest the winning team scored 50 out of a possible 60, and all the other teams had scores within 10 points!

The questions were set by Trevor Chidlow of Rhosesmor who, unfortuantely was unable to be present but we were very grateful for the style of questions which were all relatively straightforward and, indeed, there were one or two "gimme's" (but we won't mention the worst question of the night which was along the lines of "Which play was written by William Shakespeare: Piglet, Baconlet, Porklet or Hamlet?"  Since I'm not going to mention it, I shan't apologise for getting some of the options wrong either!)

"Right!  Who's nicked the answers?" Quizmaster for the evening, Arthur Kemp appears to have mislaid something important!  (The fact that the later winning team is sitting behind him is, of course, purely coincidental!)  A big THANK YOU to Arthur for organising the evening and making it such a success.

An interval was held about half way through the evening during which very welcome light refreshments were provided by Veda, Jean and Anne, who subsequently seemed to retire exhausted by their exertions!

A small raffle was also held during the interval and we are very grateful to all who donated raffle prizes, but particularly to Steve at the Bluebell who very generously provided two bottles of wine at one minute's notice!

Finally thank you to everyone for coming and for making it a fun, enjoyable and definitely repeatable evening.
