Recent News
On Friday 20th May, 17 members of Ladies Fellowship enjoyed a visit to the Flint Lifeboat Station. The view over to Parkgate from the observation room was very impressive. After coffee, tea and biscuits had been served we had an amusing and informative talk on the history of the RNLI in general and Flint in particular, followed by a video showing the work of the RNLI Lifeguards. We were then treated to a “fashion show” by Graham, who showed how quickly the crew can be ready for an emergency.
A donation of £50 was presented by Alice Evans.
Finally James gave us a close up view of the D Class Inflatable Lifeboat and everyone left very impressed.
A Double Celebration at Ladies Fellowship
As our last meeting followed hot on the heels of the Royal Wedding we made this a celebratory evening. A number of our ladies showed their creative talents by designing a novelty Royal Wedding hat. Mrs Enid Whittle kindly joined us for the evening and proved to be a very able and impartial judge.
As well 2011 being an important year for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge it is also an important year for five of our ladies who celebrate their 80th birthdays this year.
Much to the surprise of Margaret, Evelyn, Beryl, Hazel and Hetty the committee had decided that their birthdays would also be celebrated on this evening.
A special cake was presented to them while members gave a hearty rendering of a Happy Birthday accompanied by Enid on the piano.
Many thanks to Enid for judging our hat competition and entertaining us during the evening
