Little is know about the history of the Reredos at St Ethelwolds. 

The Reredos depicts Christ seated in Majesty holding the book of life.  Four Angels, two either side, worship. 

The style is certainly pre-raphelite and the artist is believed to be Nathaniel Hubert John Westlake (1833-1902). A monogram bearing the artists initial can be found below the right hand of Christ.
