Lenten Pilgrimage

A pilgrimage experience is planned in St Mary's, beginning on 13th March, the First Sunday in Lent

Lenten Pilgrimage

The Easter Labyrinth in 2010

In 2010 we had a special Holy Week and Easter pilgrimage experience in St Mary's Church.  Open whenever the church was open, it involved being guided through twelve "rooms", mostly in the south aisle of the church, each with actions, reflections, readings and prayers focusing on a different aspect of the story of Christ's Passion.

We've decided to do something similar in 2011, but this time it will run throughout Lent, and those who use it will be guided between a number of prayer and activity stations situated throughout the church building.  These will trace the ministry of Jesus, leading us to the cross and then to our own pledge of commitment.  We hope this will be good way of experiencing and using our church building, as well as deepening our understanding of our own individual faith journeys.

The Lenten Pilgrimage will be dedicated and launched at the Family Service at 11 am on Sunday 13th March, the First Sunday of Lent, and will be open whenever the church is open.
