Organisations and Activities at St Mary's

A brief list of the various groups and meetings that take place on a regular basis:

The Welshpool branch of the Mothers' Union meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 2.00 pm, normally in Church House.  Details from Margaret Morris (01938 554274).

St Mary's Bellringers practise each week on Tuesday evenings.  The Tower Captain is Neil Bennett (01938 580333).

"First Steps", a meeting during term time for pre-school children and parents/carers, normally takes place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, 1.45 pm, in Church House.

"Family and Friends" is our Sunday activity for the young.  This takes place at 4.00 pm on the fourth Sunday of each month, with a break in December and August.

The church choir practises before the 11 am service each Sunday, and at other times as specially required.  New members are always welcome.  Our principal organist is Andrey Chulovskiy, assisted by Meirion Jones, Ann Morgan, and others.

Midweek fellowship meetings generally take place on Thursdays.  'Prayer & Praise' is a housegroup meeting on the first and third Thursday at 7.00 pm.  There is a discussion group at the Vicarage on the second Thursday, and a Bible Study group on the fourth Sunday - details in the parish magazine.

Every Saturday from 10 am there is a Coffee Morning in the Church House, in support of a different charity each week.  To book a date for any particular charity (usually this needs to be a year ahead), please contact Mrs Ann Rowell at the Vicarage.

Our parish magazine, 'Serendipity', is published every month, and is 30p.  Copies are always available at the back of church and in Church House, or you can order one from the Vicar on 01938 553164.  Offers to help print and distribute the magazine are always welcome!
