Sir John Hanmer
Sir John Hanmer of Mere House, Hanmer died on Monday 29th December 2008. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday 7th January 2009 at St Chad's Church, Hanmer.
The private funeral took place earlier the same day at 11 a.m. on Wednesday 7th January 2009 at St Chad's Church Hanmer. The service was followed by internment in the family plot at St Chad's Church.
Sir John was a Worship Leader of the Hanmer group of churches and a PCC member. He was a past churchwarden. For many years he was chairman of the church social committee. He had recently retired as chairman of governors of Hanmer Church School. He was held in high regard in the community and will be greatly missed.
