Hanmer Church Gates return after repair

Church Gates

Gates Restored

The gates were moved to the mereside from the chancel in 1881. They are said to have been made by the Davies brothers of Bersham. After 128 years they were in need of some repair. Mr Hallett of Tarts Hill Hanmer removed them to his workshop. They have been repaired and treated to withstand another 128 years. They were replaced on Friday 21st August 2009.
