Re-dedication of the Parish Church

Re-dedication of Flint Parish Church
At 7:00pm on Tuesday 1st March there was a special service for St David’s Day in Flint Parish Church, attended by over 100 people.
The preacher was The Venerable Bernard Thomas, the Archdeacon of St Asaph, and, during the service, the church was re-dedicated as the Parish Church of St Mary and St David.
At the end of last year the Parochial Church Council had to take the sad decision to close St David’s Church, the daughter church in Oakenholt.
The Rector of Flint, The Reverend Brian Harvey, commented:
“Including St David, in the name of the parish church, is an appropriate tribute to everyone who worshipped in Oakenholt over the years”. And there was no better day on which to mark it than St David’s Day”.
