Recent Developments To The Church

The Church has changed significantly in the past few years, thanks to the efforts of the congregation.

Church Grounds2008 - 2009

The area of grounds to the left of the church entrance was levelled and trees removed to improve the area for use at events, particularly the Annual Fete. The work was carried out by church members, with the help of friends who provided  mechanical diggers, free of charge. The height of the Boundary Wall was also raised to the required safety levels. While this work was being carried out the opportunity was taken to install  Steel Support Tubes in the ground which are used to locate Wooden Posts which support a temporary Cover for the Fete weekend. This work significantly increased the usable area available for church events.

2003 - 2004

Refubishment has included replacing  the overhead electric heaters with more modern, floor level radiant heaters.

Overhead lighting was replaced by uplighters on the walls of the church.

1990 - 1992

The Church interior had a major up-grade with the procurement of new oak furniture, provided by Mr. John Lee of Llanefydd. The items included, Lectern, Altar, Chairs and Sanctuary Rail. The items were dedicated at Epiphany, 1993 by the Archbishop of Wales, the Right Reverend Alwyn Rice-Jones.

Most of the new furniture was gifted to the church by members and their families.

- 1990

A vestry was built, rising from the ruins of the Ty Bach. The extension to the Church had been the subject of discussion since 1984. However in 1990 a quotation was accepted, and work was carried out by church member Mr. Stuart Hayes and his son, John. Prior to the building of the Vestry the clergy had to robe in a small area behind the back pew!

The vestry is stone faced, using stone from the original outbuildings, and the roof is slated to match the existing roof, which was also entirely refurbished at the time of the vestry build.

All internal decoration and fittings were carried out by church members. Oak units were fitted so that the vestry could also be used as a kitchen for church fundraising or other social events.

The vestry was officially dedicated and opened by the Bishop of St. Asaph, the Right Reverent Bishop Alwyn Rice-Jones, on November 16, 1990.
