A Week of Guided Prayer
Praying with Scripture and the imagination is a long tradition in the church. It allows God to speak and work powerfully in your life.
A week of individually guided prayer is an opportunity to walk with Jesus through Scripture with a guide whose job it is to help you discern what God is saying to you and to give you Bible passages to pray with.
Such weeks are run from time to time in the diocese. They normally begin with a joint session for all participants on a Sunday afternoon and finish with a joint session the following Sunday. On each of the five intervening days Monday to Friday each participant has an individual time with the prayer guide.
Your Commitment as a participant
- To attend all the sessions
- To spend half an hour each day Monday to Friday praying with the passage your prayer guide has given you for that day, followed by a few further minutes making some notes
- To meet with your prayer guide each day Monday to Friday at a pre-arranged time (for a maximum of half an hour)
