the prostration

Come Holy Spirit

Those who are about to be ordained as priests prostrate themselves as the ancient hymn 'Come Holy Spirit' is sung.

Deacons

The Bishop vests the newly-ordained deacons with their stoles, which are worn over the left shoulder.

Hands ordaining one of the priests

For his sermon, the Bishop took the text "I am continually with you; you hold my right hand" (Psalm 73v21) and spoke of the role of hands in ministry. Other priests join the Bishop in ordaining a priest as a sign of their joint ministry.
