Waving at Westminster
Taking advantage of a weekend with no parish duties, I decided to do something I have never done before— I joined a demonstration!
I was one of the thousands who dressed in blue (I didn’t go as far as painting my face) and went for the Big Wave at Westminster on 5 December. It was inspiring to see so many people of all ages and different backgrounds joining together to declare their concern for the well-being of our beautiful planet and its poorest people.
I’ve never done it before, but I will do it again. Prayer in action and solidarity - it felt good. And even though the outcome of Copenhagen seemed a disappointment, I’m sure that those 40,000+ people did make a difference.
