Launch of South-East Wales Ringing Centre
The new South-East Wales Ringing Centre based at St Mary’s, Usk, was formally launched during the Monmouth Branch practice held at Usk on Saturday 19th December 2009. The Centre (the first to be set up in Wales) aims to provide a central base for the promotion of bellringing in the area, for the teaching of new ringers and to provide opportunities for existing ringers to improve their skills.
Some 35 ringers from around the diocese were present to see some of the facilities that have been provided and which were dedicated by the Ven Richard Pain (right), Archdeacon of Monmouth and one of the Vice-Presidents of the Llandaff & Monmouth Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers.
