80th anniversary for St Paul’s, Newbridge

We celebrated the eightieth anniversary of the opening of St Paul’s Church in Newbridge with a flower festival starting on Ascension Day with Holy Eucharist when Archdeacon Glyndwr Hackett was our Guest Preacher.
The festival was themed on the Seven Sacraments: Baptism, Anointing, Confirmation, Confession, Marriage, Ordination and Holy Communion.
The floral displays were all arranged by church members and we were extremely grateful to many local businesses and individuals who contributed and supported the festival. Local schools visited as well as other churches, chapels and the general public.
On the Saturday evening we were treated to a splendid performance of Cinderella. Again, all participants were our own congregation: the cast, the wardrobe assistants, stage management. Even the script was written by our Church Warden, Belinda Roberts.
Songs of Praise on the Sunday Evening was supported by the Bedwellty Deanery Choir. We would like to thank everyone who worked so hard in organising, preparing and supporting us to make our Festival such a success.
