Monmouth

Raglan & Usk Deanery
climb a Mountain for Easter

the cross in front of the Easter dawn sky

More than 120 people including nine clergy (not to mention twelve dogs) met to celebrate Easter as dawn broke, bright and still on the top of the Blorenge.

Some fifteen had walked up from the bottom, the rest came by car and many had to park in the flat areas alongside the track as the car park was soon full up. (The folk who were camping up there got an unexpected awakening at 5.30am!)

The responses and singing sounded wonderful as we proclaimed “Christ is Risen”, and sang his praise for all of Monmouthshire to hear.

After sharing the bread and wine we shared hot coffee and breakfast together. It was a joy to celebrate this dawn ‘Service of Light’ with people from most of the churches in the Raglan and Usk Deanery along with folk from other parts of the Diocese and other denominations.
