Flying Shepherds celebrate St Teilo

A recipe to make a Patronal Festival a great success:

Ingredients:

Take St Teilo’s church, Alway, Newport, and invite guests from
St Teilo’s church, Llantilio Pertholey, Abergavenny.
Add a well-planned and presented service.

Method

Mix in a few known hymns and great Welsh tunes.
Add some interesting arrangements by the Flying Shepherds – including a beautiful setting of the Mass by Antonio Lotti.
Garnish with a sermon by Archdeacon Glyndwr.
Round the service off with plenty and varied home made refreshments.

Result

This is what happened on Sunda,y 8th February, at 6pm and those who braved a very wintry evening were glad they did not miss this special service and the opportunity to enjoy good food and fellowship to follow.

The group from Llantilio Pertholey would like to thank Canon Terry Palmer and all his willing helpers for providing such a warm treat on such a cold evening.
