Brass brings in the Brass for Caerwent

Caerwent Church reverberated to the sounds of award winning Newbridge (Celynen) Brass Band recently in a concert to raise funds for the Church under their Musical Director, Paul Holland. The audience enjoyed a variety of tunes from hymns to 'Jurassic Park' with brilliants solos by Andrew Smith, Nigel Thomas and Rhiannon Hayes.

Refreshments were served by the ladies of the Church and, with a raffle, the total raised was £524.45, which will be matched by Barclays Bank as part of their Community Investment Programme.

Denise Humble, a member of Barclays staff, who helped to organise the event, said that the Church members were pleased to receive the matchfunding and that Barclays were supporting a range of good causes to strengthen the local Communities in which we live and work.
